I am 45 years, of Sri Lankan extract. Have been in Australia since 1999 and an Aussie since 2001. I am separated after 21 years of marriage.

I work in IT and am really into my job. I am currently training to become a Fitness Instructor/ Personal Trainer.

I love eating and there is very little that I do not eat! Sweets are a particular weakness! This generally negates all the working out I do and the result is a rather plump midriff that refuses to go away!

Have done a bit of travelling but still remain petrified of flying! Would love to get into a campervan and tour Australia. There are so many beautiful places in this great country that I would like to see.

My friends describe me as funny, caring, considerate and a nice guy. I am very loyal to my friends and am essentially a one-woman man. I am rather old-fashioned and get laughed at when I open doors for my lady friends. Ah! Yes, I do talk too much sometimes so I am not all perfect.

I am now at the stage in my life where I have no pretensions and can laugh at myself. Don’t have time for people who are full of themselves and those who play mind games. Over the years I have got into trouble for calling a spade a spade and although I have mellowed with age, I can still be very blunt when the need arises. With me, what you see is what you get.

I believe that friendship is the core of any good relationship and that bonds start breaking down when people lose the ability to talk to each other.

Having said this, I am initially looking for someone with whom I can be friends. Everything else will fall into place with a good friend.

Music:

I listen to a wide range of music and do play the guitar and sing a bit (more enthusiasm than talent!)

Reading:

Used to read a lot of fiction but cannot seem to find the time now. Current reading is mainly computer mags and stuff from the health & fitness industry.

Movies:

Don't usually have patience to sit through a movie but enjoy comedies & the occasional soppy movie.

Sports:

Enjoy watching cricket and rugby and since coming to Australia have become rather passionate about footy. Watch tennis and golf occasionally.

Would like to play some tennis & golf if I can find the time.

Other Interests:

I am very fit and work out at the gym most days. I enjoy running and biking too, and do the odd fun run.

Enjoy the occasional outing with my friends and do some Rock n Roll, Swing and Latin dancing (more enthusiasm than skill!) Also enjoy quiet evenings at home – even doing nothing.
